Turning on the engines of maritime sustainability

STARTING A GREEN CHAIN REACTION

As countries become stricter on underwater hull cleaning, we're stepping in to save the day.

Biofouling is a huge problem for the shipping industry and for the marine environments. The reduced speeds of vessels due to increased friction and corresponding increase in needed fuel is contributing significantly to pollution and emissions. Marine ecosystems are also being harmed, especially when traditional hull coatings are releasing biocides to kill marine life. We are now able to offer 100% biocide free treatments and faster underwater applications in a way that respects marine life while reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

SUSTAINABILITY

THE ROLE
OF GREEN NAVIS

Green Navis is built on the premise of furthering sustainability in the shipping industry. Our purpose is to introduce innovative solutions that reduce emissions and bring palpable benefits to the environment. All our services are guided by norms and regulations such as the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) and the IMO.

ESG

The climate situation worldwide is an urgent one, requiring the emissions-intensive shipping industry to reinvent itself. As IMO and MARPOL regulations become stricter and more challenging practically every month, shipping companies are looking to monitor and improve their sustainability through Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance.

Done correctly, and with Green Navis’ technologies and reporting tools, shipping companies following ESG protocols can look forward to two major benefits:

IMPLEMENTING
IMPROVING

a system that will ultimately save on costs and improve the environmental performance of its activities.

its attractiveness for clients who seek the company’s services or investors who want to enter into strategic partnerships.

Sustainable Development Goals

At Green Navis we consider that the shipping industry plays an important role in achieving all the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. On a more micro level, we are focusing as a company on the following SDGs

GOOD HEALTH & WELL-BEING

Port cities and maritime workers have long suffered from exposure to emissions and pollution. By developing hull technologies that decrease emissions and by providing reporting services that set better targets for emissions, Green Navis is contributing to the health and wellbeing of those exposed to emissions in the shipping industry.

AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

Our contribution to saving fuel and enchancing the maintenance of shipping vessels contributes to the IMO's mandatory energy efficiency standards. Our research in hull coating and other key innovations supports the development technologies that go hard.

INDUSTRY, INNOVATION & INFRASTRUCTURE

By providing the shipping industry with the latest innovations in hull technology, ensuring that these innovations are environmentally friendly, and encouraging the uptake of cleaner solutions, we are directly aligned with the SDG on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

CLIMATE ACTION

It is not enough to only highlight the detrimental effects of climate change. We are proud to be part of the solution, as we embrace the IMO’s directive to reduce emissions – through our innovations and reporting – in a bid to meet its targets in emission reduction. Our solutions are already making a difference!

LIFE BELOW WATER

Innovation that is detrimental to the marine environment is simply not innovation in our books. With our partners and environmental experts, we strive to make sure that everything we do has a positive effect on the marine environment and – in the long run – a regenerative effect in balancing marine ecosystems.
